Start the Journey from Islamabad to Naran Valley.
- Begin the by-road journey to Hunza Valley from Islamabad. Via the Hazara Motorway, enter the awe-inspiring alpine valleys of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Enjoy beautiful scenery at Shogran and Kaghan Valley, surrounded by lush green forests in every direction.
- After 4 hours of continuous driving, stop at Moon Restaurant and enjoy a warm cup of tea. Continue the journey further with detailed insights about each region shared by our guide. As you arrive at Naran, a delicious evening meal will be waiting for you. Savour the feast and spend the rest of the day in leisure, taking in the splendid surrounding views.
Arrival at the Jewel of the North - Hunza Valley.
Set off for Hunza Valley early in the morning. As you arrive at the summit of Babusar Pass, witness snow-covered valleys. Take a short break and capture beautiful memories with the snow. Continue the journey and descend to Chilas Valley. Along the way, enjoy the sweeping views of Nanga Parbat mountain. Stop at the three mountain junctions situated at Jaglot, where the Karakoram, Himalayas, and Hindu Kush mountains meet. Continue the journey onward towards Gilgit and savour a delicious meal at Das-e-Basi Resort Nomal. While passing through Nagar, capture the scenic Rakaposhi mountain. Enter Hunza Valley and make your way through Aliabad Bazar. After a long journey on the Karakoram Highway, take a cosy night stay at Eagles Nest Duiker Hunza with 360-degree views of the surroundings.
Karimabad, Altit, and Baltit Tour.
Wake up early in the morning to witness the eye-catching scenery of the entire vicinity. Enjoy the moment when the first sun ray hits the Rakaposhi mountain. After breakfast, your guide will take you on a journey through central Hunza. Begin with a guided tour of Altit Fort. Learn about the 900-year-old fort, once home of the Hunza Monarch. After discovering the archeological treasure, walk ahead to the Shiqam warehouse, where skillful women entrepreneurs make a variety of wooden handicrafts. Walk through the narrow streets of Altit Village searching for beautiful local handicrafts. Drive to Karimabad Village and take a walk to the Baltit Fort, situated at the top of a hill. The fort reflects the history and lifestyle of the Hunza people. Hike back to Karimabad bazar and enjoy a local meal at Hunza Food Pavilion. As the evening approaches, drive back to Duiker, the highest point in Hunza, to witness the sun dip behind the mountains.
Discovering Upper Hunza - Gojal Valley Tour.
Experience another beautiful morning amidst the mountains in Hunza Valley. After a delicious local breakfast, head towards Upper Hunza, known as the Gojal Valley. As you hit the Karakoram Highway again, take a short stop at Hunza Sacred Rocks, where your guide will brief you about the ancient rock carvings of Buddhist travelers and businessmen. While heading deep into the valley, you will be welcomed by the turquoise blue water of Attabad Lake, which was formed by a landslide disaster on "January 4 2010". Cross the Pakistan-China friendship bridge between Shishket and Gulmit village. In Gulmit village, discover the Gulmit Carpet Center, run by hardworking female entrepreneurs, and visit the old house in Gulmit. For local taste, visit the famous Bozlanj Restaurant. To get a mesmerizing view of the Passu Cones, hike the Ondra Poyga to reach Ondra Fort. From the top, Passu Cones offer the most breathtaking views. Drive further to the Hussaini Suspension Bridge for a touch of adventure. From the bridge, take a 5-minute drive further to Borith Lake, where you can observe beautiful migratory birds swimming in the lake. To beat the heat of the day, take a cool bath in the lake. From there, trek for 10 minutes to reach the Passu Glacier, which is the most beautiful and easily accessible glacier in the region.
Pakistan-China Border Visit.
On this day, begin the journey towards the Pakistan-China border. Alongside the Karakoram Highway, explore several villages including Passu, Khyber, Moorkhun, Ghalapan, and Sost. Enter the Khunjerab National Park at Deh. As you drive deeper and deeper into the valley, watch for Himalayan Ibexes and Marmots. Khunjerab National Park is home to these species. Upon arrival at the border, find yourself amidst verdant meadows and lush green pastures stretching as far as the eye can see. Immerse yourself with the lifestyle of local shepherds grazing their yaks, sheep, and goats near the border. Spend the rest of the day near the border before returning to Gulmit Village.
Begin the Return Journey - Drive from Hunza to Naran.
Hitting the Karakoram Highway again, begin the return journey towards Islamabad. Explore the valleys and beautiful mountains one more time before bidding farewell to Hunza Valley. Upon reaching Naran, spend a peaceful night reflecting on the experience you gained from the by-road tour.
Arrival in Islamabad - End of the Road Trip.
