Day 01: Meet our Crew at the Airport and Transfer to the Hotel
Upon arrival at Gilgit Airport, your voyage to Hunza Valley will begin. You will be greeted by our representative, and we will transfer you to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day visiting attractions in Upper Hunza. Acclimatize yourself and get ready for the great adventure starting the following day.
Day 02: Begin your Snow Leopard Expedition.
Taking advantage of the golden hours of the day, when the snow leopards are more active, our team will help you reach Khyber village, the first village in Hunza that implemented a controlled hunting system and wildlife conservation. Our team will scan the slopes and ridges surrounding the area. Here you will witness the bighorn Himalayan ibexes, the primary prey of a snow leopard.
As midday arrives, take a lunch break. During the daytime, the leopards are seen basking in the sun or usually hiding behind cliffs or boulders, making it difficult to spot. Begin tracking the white leopard again after sunset. After a full day of scouting for the animal, retire to your local guest house, sharing your experience with your travel companions.
Day 03: Third Day of Snow Leopard Sighting Tour.
On the third day, you will explore the Khunjerab National Park, scanning the nearby slopes and mountains in search of the solitary big cats. You will traverse the highland pastures to reach the prime locations where the odds of spotting a snow leopard are high.
Our professional team, who have years of experience, will make the dream come true. The expertise of such individuals will make the journey more interesting as they share stories about the behaviors, hunting techniques, and habitat of the snow leopard. Our scouts will actively scan the nearby valleys during the golden hours of dusk and dawn, making every possible effort to help you see the ghost of the mountain. Later in the day, you will drive back to your local guest house to rest and enjoy an overnight stay.
Day 04: Fourth Day of the Snow Leopard Tracking Tour.
On this stretch of the snow leopard tracking, you will extend your search to Ghulkin village, a tiny hamlet in Upper Hunza famous for its first-ever eco-friendly environment. Here, the Ghulkin Conservation Team will help us with scanning the terrain.
You will also get to see the curved-horned Himalayan ibexes. As the primary prey of the snow leopard, these ibexes significantly increase the odds of the predator being in the area. Once the evening arrives, filming the leopard will come to an end, and you will return to your guesthouse.
Day 05: End of the Snow Leopard Sighting and Tracking Tour.
As the day unfolds, our team will transfer you to the airport in Gilgit. You will fly back to Islamabad. The rest of the day will be at your leisure; you can explore many tourist attractions across the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The Snow Leopard Tour will come to an end with a farewell dinner at Shinwari Restaurant, F6-Markaz.
