Hunza Blossom Festival Tour is a cultural retreat and heritage exploration journey to the heart of Hunza Valley. Every year, on the arrival of spring, the peoples of Hunza Valley celebrate a unique event, known as the Blossom Festival. As the valley gets filled with white and pink flower pallets, the community welcome’s the new season of growth.
For three consecutive days, during the first week of April, the locals gather at a certain location wearing their traditional attire. The community welcomes the arrival of spring with joy, enjoying a dance on the rhythm of local music, special dishes are prepared for the day, and exhibition stalls are installed, displaying local handicrafts, selling dry fruits and many more.
The Hunza Blossom Festival Tour allows visitors to indulge in the local tradition, interact with the local community, and witness unique seasonal events. Apart from the cultural retreat, it also lets you explore the unique transformation of the valley, filled with beautiful white and pink spring color.

Below is the day-to-day itinerary of the Hunza Blossom Festival Tour. Note that the itinerary is customizable based on the visitors preferences and schedule.
Day 01: Arrival in Gilgit.
- On this day, our guide and driver will pick you up from the Gilgit Airport and you will experience a scenic drive on the Karakoram Highway. As you traverse through different regions of Gilgit-Baltistan, you will witness beautiful flower filled orchards. The spring season in Gilgit-Baltistan starts from the first week of March and reaches Hunza Valley after the 20th of the month.
- As you arrive at Hunza Valley to join the Hunza Blossom Festival, our team will present you with a beautiful traditional white hat, so you can blend in with the locals with full of energy and enthusiasm.
- As the sunsets, enjoy a scenic evening among the towering peaks of Karakoram. Retreat to your hotel and take a good night's sleep.
Day 02: Drive to Gulmit and Join the Hunza Blossom Festival.
- On this day of the Hunza Blossom Festival Tour, you will travel further north from Central Hunza to Upper Hunza. Along the way at Donadas, adjacent to the Ahmedabad village, you will get a view of the beautiful Baltbar Sar Peak
- Upon crossing the Pakistan-China friendship tunnel at Ainabad, take a moment and witness the beautiful Attabad Lake.
- While traversing through Shishket, the first village of Upper Hunza – Gojal Valley, you will witness beautiful orchards. It’s from this village, where you get the first glimpse of the majestic Passu Cones. The village is also among the initial settlements of Upper Hunza.
- Upon arrival at the bridge connecting Shishket and Gulmit, take a moment to capture a memorable picture with Passu Cones, this place offers one of the best views of the Passu Cathedrals in the background.
- Join the festival at Gulmit Mir Bogh. The Mir Bogh was once the royal garden of the monarch of Hunza. The people of Gumit were once gathering at this place to discuss the village affairs. As you enter the festival atmosphere, you will witness the elders of the village in traditional attire, wearing the long overcoat with a traditional white cap. This scene offers an amazing opportunity for photographers and travelers to capture the rich heritage of the region.
- Continue the exploration, interact with the community and enjoy a dance on the local music. Here you will see an information desk, briefing travelers and tourists about the importance of the festival and brief you about each and everything you see and experience during the event.
- Spend the entire day at the festival before retreating to the hotel. As the day comes to an end, take a short hike to Ondra Poyga and for the beautiful view of Hussaini, Ghulkin, and Gulmit village against the backdrop of Passu Cones.
Day 03: Join the Hunza Blossom Festival on the Second Day.
- On this day, take part in the festival for the second day in Gulmit village. Gulmit is the village which had the first settlement in the entire Upper Hunza region and has served as the autumn and spring capital of Mir of Hunza – the Thorne King of Hunza.
- Interact with the local community and explore the handicraft, dry fruits, and gemstone stalls, you might find souvenirs to take home.
- Take a short break from the festival and visit the local carpet center, just located at the end of the Gulmit Polo Ground. Attached to it is the 900-year-old, Gulmit Old House.
- Retreat to your hotel after spending another full day at the Hunza Blossom Festival.
Day 04: Explore the Surrounding Villages, e.g. Ghulkin, Passu, and Borith Village.
- On this day, taking advantage of the Hunza Blossom Festival Tour, you will visit the nearby attractions. Drive to Ghulkin village, which is the first ever eco-friendly village in entire Pakistan. Visit the 900-year-old house known as the Pup Koon, regarded as the first house of the village.
- Drive to Borith village, this village is home to the famous lake of Hunza Valley – the Borith Lake. The century old apricot trees of this village, makes it an ideal place to visit during blossom. Borith village also offers a beautiful view of the Shisper Peak and the Passu Sar Peak.
- Drive further to Passu village, it is famous for its beautiful cherry and apple orchards. During spring, the cherry blossom is the main attraction of this village. The vibrant spring flower contrast against the backdrop of the picturesque Passu Cones is worth visiting.
- After spending the entire day exploring Gojal Valley, return to your hotel and spend another evening amongst flowers and towering Karakoram peaks.
Day 05: Bid Farewell to Hunza Blossom Festival and Fly back home.
- On this day of the Hunza Blossom Festival Tour, return back to Gilgit City. Bid farewell to our team and board the most scenic flight from Gilgit to Islamabad. Witness the Karakoram, Himalaya, and Hindukush grandeurs from the air. The flight from Gilgit to Islamabad is the most scenic journey. This flight gives you the opportunity to witness all three greatest mountain ranges at once. You will see Nanga Parbat, K2, and many other towering peaks.
