Hunza Tegham Festival

Book our Hunza Tegham Festival - Spring Festival, celebrated each year during the first week of March. Witness the community of Hunza Valley celebrating the arrival of spring through its historical seed sowing festival.

Hunza Tegham Festival - Overview

Hunza Tegham Festival Tour is especially designed for those interested in exploring the cultural heritage of Hunza Valley. As spring arrives after a long and harsh winter, the people of Hunza celebrate the seed sowing festival during the first week of March. The celebration allows visitors to witness a unique and historic cultural event in which a specific village tribe known as the Shogun’s perform the initial seed-sowing ceremony called Tomang in Wakhi.

Apart from the seed sowing, the Hunza Tegham Festival allows you to witness the entire community gathering at a single place, wearing their traditional white attire paired with the long white overcoat and local hat, and celebrate the season’s new farming and cultivation.

Not only this but you also get a chance to taste a local food called Semn and Mull, which is especially prepared for the festival. The local dish Semn has a significant role in the festival, and without it, the event is considered incomplete. Join our tour and get a first-hand experience of the unique celebration of the Tegham Spring festival.
